Summer Time in Winter Park Colorado

by Morgan Keller

Summer in Winter Park

Summer in Winter Park is off and running with the 4th of July already behind us, we go into our big concert and festival season. This up coming weekend is the 35th Annual Winter Park Jazz Festival.  This is will be held at the Hideaway Park in downtown winter Park on our brand new, stage!  If you're not into all that Jazz then check out all the other activities. There is so much more going on around town!  With Bouncy Houses and bike races, face painting and happy hours there is something for the whole family to do. So why not make a weekend of it.  If you want to now, it might be a little late to get a place to stay.  These festivals are great but our small community can only hold so much.  This is why its important to have your own Home away from Home. Owning your own place here gives you the freedom to come and go anytime you want, not just when you can get a room or condo. You can also make sure your mortgage is paid for by putting your place on a rental program. You pick when you want to be here and your management company takes care of the rest.  So if you love the summer in all its glory as much as you love the winter then buy a place of your own and make this your weekend spot.

Cast Your Fishing Line in Grand County this Summer!

by Jack Gerstein

Grand County, Colorado is a fisherman’s paradise! With 1,000 of miles of streams and rivers and over 10,000 acres of mountain lakes and reservoirs, residents and visitors can spend their summer days in the area casting their lines and finding the best fish available. Catch salmon, mackinaw, and wide variety of trout just below the surface of Grand County’s beautiful waterways.

There are so many fishing spots to explore throughout the county. Whether you are looking for a guided tour or want to spend the day out on your own, you can find the perfect spot. Some of our favorite mountain fly fishing is found at Devil's Thumb Ranch, Granby Ranch, and Rocky Mountain National Forest.

Be sure to head over to the headwaters of the Colorado River near Granby! For the first time in years, five sections of the river will be open to the public for fishing. Fishermen will need to get a permit from Granby Town Hall to fish along the mile stretch of the river. The reservation fee is $25 for Granby residents and $60 for non-residents.

No matter where you decide to fish in Grand County, a Colorado Fishing License is required for anyone over 16 years of age. Anyone younger than 16 can fish but may only keep half the legal limit. Please review all Colorado fishing regulations before heading out on your fishing adventure.

Fishing is just one of the many fun activities that you can experience this summer when you enjoy the ultimate mountain lifestyle in Grand County, Colorado. Make this natural paradise your home, by giving Winter Park Jack a call today or visit our website at!

Grand Lake Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony

by Jack Gerstein

Do not miss Grand County’s main Memorial Day celebration this Monday, May 29th, in beautiful Grand Lake. Honor our nation’s bravest men and women during the Grand Lake Memorial Day Parade & Ceremony.

See incredible displays of patriotism during the parade, which will begin promptly at 10:00 am. The route goes down Grand Avenue.  Following the parade, there will be a moving ceremony with live music in Town Park (1025 Grand Avenue).

On Memorial Day, veterans can enjoy complimentary coffee and complimentary breakfast from Pancho & Lefty’s (1120 Grand Avenue). There will also be a potluck especially for them after the parade and ceremony.

Throughout Grand County, there will be endless recreational and outdoor fun taking place during the long weekend. Memorial Day weekend has truly come to signal the unofficial start of summer and with all there is to do in the Winter Park area all season long, that definitely makes us excited! However, we need to remember the real reason for the holiday and honor all the brave men and women who have protected and served our country. The veterans and active service members need to be celebrated and saluted this Memorial Day and everyday for their service and sacrifice.

Winter Park Jack extends a sincere THANK YOU to all United States veterans. We wish you all a Happy & Safe Memorial Day!
